Uva Ursi
Uva Ursi, Arctostaphylos uva ursi: Helps bladder and urinary tract problems, including cystitis, nephritis, urethritis, pyelitis (inflammation of the pelvis of the kidney), hematuria (bloody urine), yeast infections, vulvitis, for the acute pain in the initial outbreaks of genital herpes and venereal warts, and for hot inflammation of bacterial vaginosis. Helps dissolve urinary stones.
Uva Ursi acts to tone, smooth and strengthen the mucus membranes of the urinary tract, and it is a solvent for urinic calculi deposits. Helps with incontinence and mucus discharge from the bladder. Reduces inflammation and soothes irritated tissues of the urinary tract.
Other indications: urine incontinence, diabetes, Bright's disease, dysentery, piles, hemorrhoids, excessive menstruation, spleen/liver/pancreas, bladder mucus discharge, gonorrhea, and syphilis. Externally, the boiled tea can be used as a wash for abrasions, infections, contusions and bruises.
Uva Ursi is an antibacterial,antimicrobial, antiseptic, astringent, and diuretic.
Ingredients
Uva Ursi, Distilled Water, 20% Alcohol.
Instructions
Use 6-12 drops in juice, water, under the tongue or as desired. May be taken 3 times daily. Shake well. Store in cool dark place. Keep out of reach of children.
Warnings
The hydroquinone is poisonous. Uva Ursi is very high in tannins and should not be used for more than 2-3 days. If you have kidney or irritated digestive disorders, it can cause irritation to the stomach lining and kidneys. Do not use during pregnancy because high quantities act as a vasoconstrictor to the uterus and may decrease circulation.

Also known as Bearberry. Arbutin in this plant converts to hydroquinone, which acts as an urinary disinfectant. It is most effective with alkaline urine. Uva Ursi has a specific affinity for the genito-urinary organs, especially for gravel or ulcerations of the kidney and bladder.
